Language learning expands more than vocabulary

Learning a new language increases brain growth in certain areas, according to a recent report published in the journal NeuroImage. Researchers compared MRIs of Swedish army personnel going through intense language training with students at an elite science school. The brain scans displayed more distinct growth in the cerebral cortex for the language students.
